About RootAcademy
A new school, built by people who write code for a living
RootAcademy just launched. We're a small team of practicing developers who got tired of course platforms that hand you a video and call it a day, so we built our own.

Who's behind this
We're a small team of working developers, not a faceless ed-tech company. Every course is written and reviewed by people who use these tools in their day jobs, and we're still actively building and refining the platform as real students start using it.
02Principles
How we think about learning
Watching someone else write code teaches you very little. Writing it yourself, and getting told immediately whether it's right, teaches you a lot.

Practice first
In the coding courses, lessons are built around exercises you solve directly in the browser, in our own code trainer, not videos you watch passively. You write real code and run it against real test cases.
Real tools, not toy versions
Where a lesson covers Docker, Git or a CI pipeline, you're using the actual tool, not a simplified simulation of it. What you practice here is what you'll use on the job.
Immediate feedback
The trainer tells you right away whether your solution works, so you fix misunderstandings while the lesson is still fresh instead of finding out three videos later.
03Difference
What's different here
Most course platforms are video libraries with a quiz bolted on. In the coding courses everything is built around our own in-browser trainer; the lesson text supports the exercises, not the other way around. We're upfront that we're early: right now we have a small number of complete courses, with more in active development and clearly marked as such. We'd rather ship a few courses we're proud of than pad a catalog with filler.
